A Journey That Began with Snow — and Ended with Chicken Wings
My first trip to Nagoya wasn’t actually about the city itself. It was a gateway to the breathtaking Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, famous for its dramatic snow walls that tower high above visitors each spring. About three hours north of Nagoya, the route draws travellers eager to walk between corridors of snow and witness one of Japan’s most spectacular seasonal sights.
Yet, as memorable as the snow walls were, what lingered just as strongly in my memory was something far more delicious: Nagoya’s legendary tebasaki (名古屋手羽先).
Tebasaki, the city’s iconic chicken wings, are deep-fried until crisp, then glazed in a glossy, sweet-soya sauce and showered generously with pepper and sesame.
It was this unforgettable flavour memory that inspired our newest menu addition — Nagoya Karaage.
Our karaage begins with juicy Japanese-style fried chicken, marinated for tenderness, fried to golden crispness, then tossed in a sweet and tangy soya glaze reminiscent of Nagoya’s famous tebasaki. The sauce clings beautifully to every bite, delivering that same irresistible balance of sweetness, umami, and gentle spice.
Each order is a small culinary journey — from the bustling streets of Nagoya to your dining table.
