Forever in love with Tokyo
White Valentine’s on March 14 has always felt like the perfect excuse to reminisce about my most romantic trip to Tokyo. While February 14 is when chocolates are first given in Japan, White Day is when feelings are returned — a beautiful custom that mirrors the spirit of travel itself: receiving unforgettable moments and giving back appreciation.
In a capital known for its neon lights and relentless energy, I found myself surrounded by fiery reds and golden yellows of the Autumn leaves. Walking through Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, time seemed to slow. The meticulously landscaped grounds, reflective ponds, and stone bridges transported me back to an era when life allowed space for stillness and appreciation. It was a gentle reminder that even in one of the world’s most dynamic cities, serenity is never far away.
Tokyo also carries a cinematic romance. Strolling beneath tree-lined avenues, I couldn’t help but think of Tokyo Love Story — the iconic drama first aired in 1993 and lovingly remade in 2013 for a new generation. The city’s streets seem to echo with stories of youthful love, missed chances, and heartfelt confessions. There’s something about Tokyo that makes emotions feel vivid and alive.
This White Day, let’s recreate the warmth and romance of Tokyo and share the flavors you love with the people who matter most. Or simply expressing gratitude to colleagues who support you, food is one of the most meaningful ways to say “thank you.”
